Email message size

Instructions for beginners

The maximum size of a received/sent email message, including all attachments, is approximately 21 MB.

The server is set to a maximum email size of 25 MB. However, the maximum attachment size is set to 20 MB. But email clients (Thunderbird, Outlook) convert email messages (specifically binary attachments) to base64 encoding when sent. Email encoded this way takes up approximately 33% more space than the original. Therefore, the actual email size must be one-third smaller than the maximum, that is, approximately 20 MB.

On most servers, the maximum email size is set to approximately 6 MB. If you try to send a larger email message to such a server, the WebSupport server will send it, but the destination server won’t receive it. Therefore, we recommend that you send email messages with attachments up to 6 MB.
