Setting up MX records

Even if your domain is registered with another provider, it is still possible to use e-mail services with us. This is done by adjusting your domain’s MX records.

What MX records should I use?

  • Subdomain @
  • Value – mailin1.yourdomain.se
  • Priority – 10
  • TTL – 600
  • Subdomain @
  • Value – mailin2.yourdomain.se
  • Priority – 100
  • TTL – 600

Replace “yourdomain.se” with your actual domain. If you own the domain name “exemple.se”, the records will be “mailin1.exemple.se” and “mailin2.exemple.se”.

After this, we need to add two A records. We also recommend that you add 2 AAAA records if possible. These can look a little different from user to user, so you will find the correct records at “DNS > DNS-settings > A” och “DNS > DNS-settings > AAAA” in your control panel. The records below are just examples.

A-records (Example)

  • Subdomain mailin1
  • Value – 109.235.175.21
  • TTL – 600
  • Subdomain mailin2
  • Value – 109.235.175.22
  • TTL – 600

AAAA-precords (Example)

  • Subdomain mailin1
  • Value – 2a00:1968:0:4000:109:235:175:22
  • TTL – 600
  • Subdomain mailin2
  • Value – 2a00:1968:0:4000:109:235:175:23
  • TTL – 600

Remember that it takes up to 24 hours before this takes effect. You also need to manually move any emails from previous providers as these are not included automatically. Here is a guide for moving emails to us.
