If you have noticed that you have started getting a lot of spam sent to your email account, there are several steps to address this. Below is a description of how you can fix the most common problems in these cases.<\/p>\n\n

First, check that you have not activated the Catch-all function. You can do this by logging in to the Control panel in the Email\/Catch-all section. If it is active, you run a much greater risk of encountering enormous amounts of spam as all emails sent to non-existent mailboxes such as asdf@yourdomain.se or fghba@yourdomain.se reach your address.<\/p>\n\n

Unfortunately, Catch-all in this case is more harmful than useful and we, therefore, recommend shutting it down. You should immediately notice that spam messages stop appearing.<\/p>\n\n

2. Another important thing is to sharpen the SPF rule in DNS TXT domain records. The strictest in them is “-“, so we will change two existing records in the mentioned records in your domain:<\/p>\n\n

This setting prevents messages from being sent from mailboxes that do not exist on the mail servers defined in the MX records. You can edit SPF records by logging in to the Control panel > DNS\/TXT section.<\/p>\n\n
