Below are the steps on how to most easily move a website to us.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The process includes the following steps.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Move Website Files (FTP)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Move database (If used)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Move Email (If Needed)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Configure the website so that it works on our servers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change the DNS of the domain to our DNS settings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Move website files<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There are several ways to transfer data. The most common ways are:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transfer via FTP by copying the website&#8217;s data locally and then importing the files to your server site with us via <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/en\/kb\/ftp-clients-and-connections\/\">FTP<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>46 \/ 5 000 \u00d6vers\u00e4ttningsresultat Copy and transfer files via shell\/terminal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our own migration tool that you can read more about via: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/en\/kb\/migration-tool\/\">Migrator FTP<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">If you have a WordPress, we recommend that you transfer the data via the WP plugin Duplicator as it is adapted to move WordPress pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:46px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Move the database<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The database move consists of the steps below.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Export the contents of the database (SQL file) from your old web host.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a new database with us according to the instructions in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/kb\/skapa-databaser\/\">Creating databases<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/kb\/importera-databas\/\">Import<\/a><\/strong> the SQL file that you previously exported.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is also possible to use our<a href=\"https:\/\/support.websupport.se\/kb\/migrator-databazy\/\"> <\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/en\/kb\/migration-tool\/\">migration tool for databases.<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">Most older versions of MySQL or MariaDB databases are compatible with newer versions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:47px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Move Emails<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If it isn&#8217;t possible to manually export email from another provider, you can use our own migration tool. The tool allows you to copy over an existing e-mail box to your server with us. Instructions for that process can be found at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/en\/kb\/migration-tool\/\">Migrate Email<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-info\">Once you have completed the e-mail transfer, you can easily check the result by logging in to your webmail with us. Assuming you have IMAP with your previous provider, all received and sent messages will be moved and your folder structure\/directory structure will be intact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:65px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Configure your website\/application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once you have moved your site and associated database, only the configuration remains. The correction\/change must be made in the configuration file used to connect to the connected database. For WP, this is done in wp-config.php for example.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/kb\/ansluta-en-databas-till-en-webbapplikation\/\">Connect a database to your CMS<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/kb\/ansluta-wordpress-till-en-annan-databas\/\">Edit the configuration file of WordPress<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/kb\/redigera-konfigurationsfilen-i-joomla\/\">Edit the configuration file associated with your Joomla<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon is-style-alert\">Do not forget to test the functionality of your website by modifying the host file. Check all subpages and administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:52px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change the DNS <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Once you have ensured that the website is moved correctly, the last step is to change the <a href=\"https:\/\/kunskap.websupport.se\/en\/kb\/what-different-types-of-dns-records-are-there\/\"><strong>DNS records. <\/strong><\/a> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have not changed the registrar for the domain, it is easiest to ask your current registrar to change to our name servers. Note that such a change takes between 24-48h.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-ht-blocks-messages wp-block-hb-message wp-block-hb-message--withicon\">Congratulations!
